Spain has a good draw in the 2012 European Cup

Spain now knows her rivals in the classification phase of the 2012 European Cup, and will meet the Czech Republic, Scotland, Lithuania and Liechtenstein. It’s regarded as an easy start for the team which will be defending its victory in the tournament in 2008.
Spain remains ranked Number One in the FIFA and UEFA rankings. Manager, Vicente del Bosque, said he was ‘relatively content’ with the draw, and noted the demands on the calendar when there are five teams are far lighter when there are six.

A 19 year old has died playing football in Almería. It happened in Cuevas del Almanzora when the youngster suffered a heart attack and collapsed during the game on Sunday. An autopsy is being carried out to determine the exact cause of death. The identity of the victim has not been released in reports.

There are still five points difference between Barcelona and Real Madrid at the top of the table.

Athlético de Madrid returned to their poor league form after the success earlier in the King’s Cup semi-final earlier in the week. It was a controversial game and goals came from Forlán and Colsa as it ended Racing 1 Athlético 1
A bad night for Sevilla player Álvaro Negredo as the side went down 2-1 in Zaragoza last night and he was sent off. It came as the Sevilla manager saved some of his top players for the King’s Cup game on Wednesday.
There was a goalless draw for Málaga at home to Deportivo, while Almería had a good 3-1 win against Sporting.
