Andalucian airline goes bust after 45 days

Flysur complains about a lack of air traffic control facilities at Córdoba Airport.
Flysur, heralded as the first Andalucian airline, has gone bust after just 45 days. The airline has announced that its last flights will be on October 20.

The single plane airline had been linking Córdoboa to Barcelona, Vigo and Bilbao, and blames the Spanish Airports Authority AENA for not supporting them with a portable control tower in Córdoba, which it says has led several of its flights being diverted to Sevilla in poor weather. The Ministry for Development has said a working control tower will be in place in Córdoba in February or March next year.

Flysur had a start up capital of 1.5 million €, but the launch date of September 4 came as the financial crisis began to bite and flights have been less than a quarter full some of them with just a single passenger.
