Costa Tropical Business News – January
Dec 31st, 2008 | By Captain Chaos | Category: Costa Tropical Business NewsA Safe Cigarette?
It’s electronic and looks like a cigarette, tastes like a cigarette and smokes like a cigarette, but it doesn’t have the harmful tar and chemicals which are a danger to a smoker’s health and those around them. It contains no tobacco, only nicotine.
Safe-Smoking are the importers in Spain, and their spokesperson had this to say about the product that smokers all over the world are talking about.
“We introduced the electronic cigarette to Spain because of personal experience in trying to quit smoking, we tried everything available, gum, patches, prescription tablets, the lot, it cost a fortune and we failed. But the electronic cigarette worked for us and without stress.”
You inhale a nicotine vapor and the electronic tip glows, you exhale what appears to be smoke but it’s a harmless vapor mist which evaporates in the air.
People buy the cigarette for different reasons, some wish to quit smoking by gradually reducing the nicotine strength without experiencing any withdrawal symptoms, while others want to continue smoking but more healthily.
Sales have rocketed in the UK mainly due to the no smoking ban which Spain is set to follow next year. It is acceptable in most public places including bars and restaurants to use the electronic cigarette as it does not produce any smoke.
The cigarette is fully rechargeable and the starter kit comes with a spare battery, charger and a pack of nicotine cartridges. The pack is €45, which compared to the Harrods UK price of £89 is excellent value.
Replacement nicotine cartridges are available in various strengths and cost €1 each, each cartridge lasts for between 15-20 regular cigarettes.
As there is no second hand smoke and no harmful chemicals this is certainly the way forward be it for a sociable issue or for quitting completely.
