Lanjarron: The Spa Town

Lanjarron is a small town or village in Andalucia that offers spectacular views of the Alpajarras Mountains. It is a Moorish village where you will find traditional village houses over-shadowed by the snow clad peaks. Also known as the spa town, Lanjarron in the Costa Tropical regions offers some of the best natural spas in Spain. The spa town of Lanjarron is at a driving distance from some of the higher Alpujarran villages like the Capileira, Pampaneira, and Bubion. It is situated on the road that leads from Orgiva to Padul.

    Airport: Granada Airport, Almeria Airport, and Malaga Airport
    You can reach Lanjarron from the Granada airport in 35 minutes and it will take 2hours from the Malaga Airport and 2hrs and 10minutes from the Almeria airport. You can also drive down from Orgiva, which is a 25 minute drive to the spa town of Lanjarron.

    Places to See/Activities
    Lanjarron in Andalucia is famous for the healing waters and hence many tourists from different parts of Europe and Spain come down here to take a bath in the healing waters. This small village in the Costa Tropical region has many spa camps and yoga retreats. You can check out the several shops lines across the streets where you will find different types of souvenirs. Lanjarron is not only famous for the healing waters; it is also famous for the spectacular landscape that will enthrall your senses. Hence this region is also known as the great walking country. You will find surprisingly beautiful scenery at every turn and can also enjoy trekking, hiking, cycling, and horse riding.

    The spa town of Lanjarron is rich in flora and fauna. If you are a bird watching enthusiast then you will find lots of them including migratory birds. You can also take on paragliding to soar in the sky like the birds do it. Some of the other activities that you can indulge in include fishing, water sports, golf, etc. The lush valleys with pomegranates and grapes will provide the much magical relief for your sore eyes. The ski resort of Sierra Nevada is an hour’s drive from here. Most of the golf courses are situated in Granada and Motril. The nearest beach is in Salobrena, which is a 40 minute drive from here.

    Nightlife
    There are some good bars and restaurants situated in the town. You can even find the traditional Costa Tropical Tapas bars here.

    Weather
    The weather in the spa town of Lanjarron is the same as in the other regions of Costa Tropical. The summers are hot and the average temperature will be around 22c while the winters are cold and the temperature can dip to 11c. There is minimum rainfall in the summers and some amount of rainfall in winters.
