Itrabo: The Agricultural Town

Itrabo is another small village of Andalucia that is situated a few kilometers from the big town of Salobrena. The main industry in this part of Costa Tropical is agriculture and some of the crops cultivated here include avocados, tomatoes, and grapes. The town of Itrabo has a North-African feel to it, which are further heightened by the flat-roofed and white-washed homes with winding roads that lead up to the top of the hills.

  • Itrabo

Even though Itrabo is a small town, it has a deep rooted culture and history that can be traced back to the arrival of the Phoenicians to Andalucia. The Phoenicians settled down in this region of Spain due to the abundance of fresh water, fertile soil, and because it was close to the Costa Tropical coastline. The Phoenicians created a strong trade network spanning across the Mediterranean and somewhere along the expansion of this trade route, the town of Itrabo was discovered.
