Child electrocuted at a fairground attraction

A 14-year-old teenager died in the early hours of Friday August 15 as a result of electric shock suffered along at an attraction of the fair Tabernas (Almeria), which was suspended once it knew of the child’s death.

The events occurred around 1.00am Friday, when the victim, Juan Jose A., came into contact with a stoplight next to the bumper cars, producing a short circuit that made him fall to the ground injured .

Several of those present helped to have him moved immediately to the health center, about 50 meters from the scene.

However, once there, they tried in vain to resuscitate him for nearly an hour and, at approximately 2.00 am  certified his death.

The mayor of the town, Antonio Ubeda, and councillor for Youth and Culture, Jose Diaz, decided to suspend the holidays.
