You can take bus services from Malaga that will connect you to Orgiva other villages in the Alpujarras Mountains. The nearest railways stations are situated in Malaga and Granada from where you can travel to the bus station and take a bus. It will take you around 3 hours to reach Orgiva from Malaga by bus. Alternatively, you can hire a car and drive down on the N340 along the beautiful coastline with some of the most splendid views of the Costa Tropical.

Places to See/Activities

There are quite a lot of things to see and do in Orgiva like the attractive and mysterious twin-spire church that dates back to the 16th Century. This church is also known as the Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de la Expectacion.  There are quite a few churches in this small town of Andalucia like old white-washed church known as Ermita de San Sebastian. The village square is an interesting place to be and you will be able to get taste of life in Orgiva. You can visit the Plaza de Alpujarras, which has several walkways that proudly display tiled pictures of some of the other villages in the Las Alpujarras region. On a sunny day, you catch some stunning views of the Sierra Lugar or you can hit the beaches of Salobrena and Motril, which are around 35 minutes drive from Orgiva.

Some of the other activities that you can enjoy include horse riding, bird watching, para gliding, and even skiing in the winters. From this Costa Tropical town, you can travel to the spa town of Lanjaron, the mysterious caves of Nerja or just enjoy a game of Golf at the Motril golf course.

Nightlife

There are some super-markets in this Costa Tropical town where you can find bars and restaurants. Some of the bars are open way past midnight and you can enjoy some local Spanish beer over good dance music.

Weather

Orgiva has one of the most pleasant weathers in Europe and Spain. The summers are normally from June to September when the average temperatures hovers between 28⁰C to 35⁰C. The winters, which is from October to February, the average day time temperatures hover between 15⁰C to 23⁰C.
