Closed circuit cameras to protect health staff in Granada

It follows a spate of agressions against health workers. 70 closed circuit cameras are to be used to protect health service workers in hospitals and ambulatorios in Granada province. The measure has been taken after health professionals in the province have suffered seven physical and 24 verbal aggressions so far this year. Woman drowns on the Calahonda beach in Motril

The 70 year old woman was on holiday in the area. A woman drowned on the Calahonda beach near Motril yesterday just after noon. Two people managed to get her body out of the sea but attempts to reanimate her failed. Protection Civil and the National Police went to the scene. Man hits his 83 year old mother with a baseball bat in Granada

The accused had only been released from prison the previous week. The Guardia Civil has arrested a 56 year old man who is charged with hitting his 83 year old mother with a baseball bat at her home in Láchar, Granada.
