Cadiar: A Mountain Town in Costa tropical

Cadiar is situated right on the banks of the Guadalfeo River and is considered as one of the central points in Alpujarra as well as Costa Tropical. Cadiar stands as the link between the blue waters of the Mediterranean and the white slopes of the Sierra Nevada, which stands tall with some of the highest peaks in Spain. Breathtaking landscapes, scenic environment and a handful of memories is what this town in Andalucia will offer you. You will come across old farmhouses that date back to the Arab- Andalusian origin as well as glimpses of agro-tourism.

    Places to See/Activities

There are a lot of activities that you can indulge in when in Cadiar. It is a favorite place for British Expats and there’s a certain air of tranquility that will calm your mind and relax your body. Andalucia is one of the most beautiful regions of Spain and at Cadiar, you will be able to see much of that beauty. You can always drive down from here to Sierra Nevada, where the white powdery slopes will lure you enough to try on a pair of skis and ski boots. There are 45 pistes in Sierra Nevada and each one of them is more adventurous than the other. It is a pure and exhilarating experience. In the summers though, you can enjoy a trek through the dense forest and rough trails that criss-cross across the Sierra Nevada. If trekking is not your cup of tea then less demanding activities like lazying in the sun or discovering the different types of flora and fauna in this Costa Tropical region can be fun. Some of the other activities that you can indulge in include cycling, taking wine tours, visiting the local historical and cultural places, or taking a walk through the town. The Rabita beach is not too far off and takes about 35 minutes by car.

    Nightlife

There are some British bars in Cadiar like the Bar Central and Jamanandel’s if you are looking for some James Bond style martini’s. It’s still a small town and hence the night life does not consist of too much of an exciting nature.

    Weather
