Overall  job purpose: This role has been created to manage the development of a credit management  function within a newly created Finance Centre of Excellence (FCE) in Granada, Spain. The main function of the FCE is to support UK based divisions and their highly valued clients. The role will be to assist in the implementation and then management of the function in Granada.  You will be responsible for ensuring that services are delivered to a high standard, and that appropriate improvements and change initiatives are implemented to deliver continuous improvement in services to the rest of the Group.
Main responsibilities and Opportunities:

  • Ensure that Northgate’s working capital is maximised with close management of client credit limits, forecasted telephone collections and disputed invoices.
  • Manage weekly and monthly forecasting of customer payments for the group.  To work closely with corporate, regional and divisional finance heads and provide accurate reliable reporting.
  • Positively contribute to working capital improvement programmes.
  • Ensure that the functions are operationally cost effective; resources are adequately trained and deployed to meet requirements of the operational business.
  • Take responsibility for the timely reporting of financial and operational KPIs and SLAs on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
  • Staff management, coaching and development of process clusters and constantly ensure that functions and processes are aligned to regional and divisional structures.
  • Develop and drive proactive a quality customer engagement service to meet (internal and external) stakeholder requirements.
  • Select, recruit, manage and develop resources within the FCE and ensure compliance with local employment legislation.
  • Define the tools, processes and routines to ensure a quality service delivery model.

Qualifications, work experience:

Essential

  • Finance or Business Administration qualification.
  • A sound background in a service related industry where contracted terms are for a number of years which demand that excellent client relations are paramount to organisation success.
  • Experience in a large multinational organisation managing ledger values of up to 28.000m € is essential.
  • Excellent understanding and application of skills in managing working capital and meeting challenging cash collection targets.
  • Demonstrable ability to react quickly to changes in micro and macro environment.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in style and approach to problem solving
  • Well developed coaching, mentoring and training skills.
  • Excellent customer services skills to proactively build and maintain relationships with customer service, including communication, management expectation, recommendations, quality of outputs etc.
  • Experienced operations management (SLA management)
  • Experience of managing external stakeholders (clients and vendors)
  • People and performance management skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills and ability to work in a complex matrix organisation
  • Systems and Process Analytical skills.
  • Change Management – ability to drive significant change, with experience in implementation of best practice processes and procedures.
Knowledge (Language, IT skills etc) Essential

  • Experience of working a volume based contact centre environment where specific targets around cash collections, DSO and aged debt management
  • Experience in the use of SAP, Business Warehouse and GET PAID systems is an advantage
  • Advanced PC skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Advanced Business English written and oral is essential, other languages would be desirable
